taught by Robert R. Leichtman, M.D. There is a great need for the power of self-discipline to protect us from being distracted by uncertainty and self-doubt. Self-discipline is our capacity to bring order and stability to our thinking and focus of attention. Remaining focused and calm also is supported by our ability to be resilient which provides a psychological cushion to moderate our reactions to being overwhelmed by fear, anger, or defeat.
